Using the document viewer
You can view Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and PDFs that have been uploaded, using the document viewer.
Currently, Fuse comes with two document viewers:
New document viewer: Allows you to open and view open XML Microsoft files directly in Fuse, including DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX, and PDF.
Legacy document viewer: Allows you to view older, non-open XML Microsoft files directly in Fuse, including DOC, XLS, PPT, and PDF.
Files from Google, such as Google Docs, Sheets and Slides cannot be viewed in Fuse’s document viewer. However, you can embed these files in articles using an embed code. For information on how to do this, see Embedding external content (e.g. Google files) in Fuse articles.
If both the legacy and new document viewers are enabled at the same time, the following will occur:
If you upload a non-open XML Microsoft file, Fuse automatically defaults to the legacy document viewer.
If you upload an open XML Microsoft file, Fuse automatically defaults to the new document viewer.
