Active Users tab

The Active Users tab shows insights related to users with active accounts in the Fuse instance.

Active users and engaged users are not the same:

  • Active users: An active user is someone who has a user account and has successfully logged in to Fuse at least once. After a user has logged in, they can perform various actions such as searching for content, visiting a user profile page, signing up for an event, and so on.

  • Engaged users: An engaged user is someone who has viewed, liked, commented on, followed, or searched for an item of content at least once. For data related to engaged users, see Engagement and Engaged Users Overview tabs. An active user can become an engaged user if they interact with an item of content in one of the ways listed above.

The following insights are shown in the Active Users tab:

Insight

Description

Active users

The total number of active users who have logged in to Fuse during the current calendar month. In the example below, 137 active users have logged into Fuse in the current calendar month so far.

On the first day of the month this figure will be reset to 0. This is because the data is uploaded overnight and will be added the following day.

of which [#]% are first time users

The percentage of active users who have logged in for the first time.

This insight is called “Users in community” in the Overview tab, as well as in the Analyzer tool

In the example below, the 0.1% out of 137 active users have logged in for the first time, in the current calendar month.

and [#]% visited more than once

The percentage of active users who have logged into the Fuse instance, and then visited more than once in the current calendar month. Research has shown that when users regularly learning something, it helps drive performance and encourages career progression. Revisiting Fuse each day allows your users to gradually and continuously improve their skillset, as well as learn new skills.

In the example below, 2.2% of 137 active users have logged into the Fuse instance, and then visited more than once in the current calendar month.

That is [#]% of [#] provisioned users

The percentage of users out of the total number of provisioned users. A provisioned user is someone who has access to the Fuse instance and has also been added to a community.

In the example below, the 137 active users equals 4.9% of the 2,769 provisioned users.

Active Users (monthly)

A bar chart displaying the number of active users in the Fuse instance for the past 6 months.

In the example below, the highest number of active users was in March, with 605 users. This means the number of active users has declined over the last 6 months. If you find that the number of active users is declining, you could try and understand why users are no longer coming to Fuse. It might be because your content is not engaging enough.

Tip!

If you find that the content in your Fuse instance is not engaging enough, try and get buy in from your leadership team and encourage them to promote the content. Research has shown that leadership/team leaders lead by example and the teams often automatically mirror that behaviour.

Hover over each bar in the chart to view the details. In the example below, there were 605 active users in the Fuse instance in March.
